ASSURED TRAINING
Skills Development
Our assured training aims to equip independent climbers, mountaineers and alpinists with the skills to mitigate risk, and enjoy their own independent trips to the mountains.
We offer short alpine skills training courses for independent climbers and aspiring alpinists when stepping up a level, or visiting a new mountain environment for the first time. Mentoring and coaching programmes are also available for instructors and mountain guides who wish to take advantage of assistance as they progress through their own careers, and the national governing body (NGB) awards structure.
Problem solving and improvised rescue training remains an important part of our UK offering. Sometimes things go wrong, and our clients tell us that being prepared for predictable problems and emergency situations allow them to plan trips to the mountains with confidence.
Continuing Professional Development (CPD) courses are also available for current instructors and mountain guides along with our e-learning courses, the first of which is Mountain CRM.
A significant part of our assured training has been the delivery of applied Human Factors (HF) training for instructors and mountain guides.
Using the concepts of Crew Resource Management (CRM) and Non-technical Skills, Mountain Assurance has been the first to bring these safety seminars to the UK outdoor sector. Human Factors Fundamentals, and Mountain CRM – Human Factors for Instructors are one and two day safety seminars for outdoor professionals.
Similar training can be delivered to providers or organisations on a bespoke basis, please contact us.
