Mountain Assurance Ltd is owned and run by James Thacker. Our mountain guiding and instructional services are based on broad skills and worldwide experience.
Most importantly we use our skills and experience to help our clients achieve their aspirations and full potential.

About James Thacker
James Thacker
IFMGA Mountain Guide and WMCI | Director
James is an IFMGA Mountain Guide and member of the British Association of Mountain Guides (BMG). In addition, James is also a Winter Mountaineering and Climbing Instructor (WMCI).
Having worked in Outdoor Education, as a self employed Mountaineering Instructor and full time IFMGA Mountain Guide, James brings broad and in depth experience to current projects.
Being based in both Kingussie, Inverness-shire and Chamonix Mont-Blanc, France, allows us to explore the best that both Scotland and the alps has to offer. Both these areas provide ample opportunity for work and play, particularly for James’ children’s own assured experiences.
